The Young Artists program and exhibition has been a tradition at the Katonah Museum of Art for 38 years. With the goal of providing hands-on, insider museum experiences to aspiring artists, this program invites student involvement in the exhibition process from beginning to end. Under the guidance of Museum professionals, students take on the roles of graphic designer, curator, exhibition designer, installer, as well as artist, as they work collaboratively to mount this impressive exhibition. 

 

On view are nearly 300 senior student artworks from 30 high schools in Westchester, Fairfield and Putnam counties. The works range in scale, concept, media and process, reflecting the diversity of expression in these young artists.

 

As we work our way through the challenges of this year, we have become even more aware of the important and meaningful role the Katonah Museum of Art holds within our community. We are proud to provide this unique opportunity to our local senior students, especially during this unprecedented time. This exhibition celebrates the artistic talents of high school artists, the dedication of their teachers and the support of their families.
